Detailed Solution

In 1871, the criminal tribe act passed. In the nineteenth century, the British government created a series of laws to strengthen its hold over India's resources and expand its revenue stream. Because of laws like the Criminal Tribes Act of 1871, they had additional power. By this act, the pastoral nomads were criminals by nature and birth. The communities were allowed to set up shops in a few pre-selected village villages. They were placed in the care of local police, who were routinely updated on the movements of the pastoralists.
