Detailed Solution

There are three cropping seasons in India. The cropping seasons of India are the Rabi, Kharif, and Zaid. Rabi season occurs during the winter months and is also called winter crops. The seeds are sown in late September or in the early weeks of October. Examples: wheat, barley, mustard, etc. Then, the Kharif crops during the monsoon months; the seeds are sown in May or June and harvested. Examples: Rice, cotton, maise, etc. Then, the Zaid cropping season is the short season between rabbi and Kharif. This cropping season does not depend on the monsoon but rather grows with the help of irrigation. It grows mainly from March to June. Examples: watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber, etc.
