There are eight major religions in the world.
The believers of these religions have their faith and rituals which they follow. Their customs are different from each other. Therefore, these religions also have their religious books; for example, the Hindus have the Bhagavad Gita, the Christians have the Bible, the Muslims have the Quran, the Jews have the Torah, and so on. The different religions also have differences in their practices of idol worship, as some of the beliefs believe in the concept of monotheism (only one god). In comparison, others believe in polytheism (more than one god). The peaceful co-existence of all religions is possible only in a secular and democratic state like India, where the practice of religion is an individual choice without the state's intervention.
