There are three bars, out of which two are magnets, and one is an iron bar. Therefore, to identify the poles of each magnet, we have to know at least the North and south pole of one of the magnetic bars.
Only one pole of the two magnets is required to identify the other poles of the magnets and the iron bar. We have to note down which sides of the bars are repelling and which attract each other.
