Suppose the number of fruits in the second basket = F

Number of fruits in the first basket

Number of fruits in the third basket $= 2 F \times \frac{3}{4} = \frac{3 F}{2}$

Now, $2 F + F + \frac{3 F}{2} = 30 \times 3$

$\begin{aligned} \frac{4 F + 2 F + 3 F}{2} = 30 \times 3 \\ 9 F = 30 \times 3 \times 2 \\ ∴ F = \frac{30 \times 3 \times 2}{9} = 20 \end{aligned}$

Number of fruits in the first basket = 2F = 2 x 20 = 40
