There was not a single Indian representative in the all-white Simon Commission n 1928.
Seven British citizens formed the Simon Commission, dispatched to India in 1928 to research constitutional reform and provide recommendations to the authorities. This panel made several suggestions, including removing the monarchy and adopting a federal government and the right to vote. But there was not a single Indian represented on this all-white commission. For the dominating nationalists, the lack of representation of Indians was offensive. As a result, the Simon Commission was boycotted. Nevertheless, black flags welcomed this commission when they arrived in India with the slogans 'Go back, Simon'.
