Given that three metallic solid cubes whose edges are 3 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm are melted and formed into a single cube.
We know the volume of the cube of length a is a³.
As a single cube is formed by melting three metallic cubes of edges 3cm,4cm,   and  5cm,   so, the volume of the single cube formed is the same as the sum of the volume of the three cubes.
Let us assume the length of the edge of the single cube formed is a. Then, V= V 1 + V 2 + V 3 a 3 = 3 3 + 4 3 + 5 3 a 3 =216 a=6  
Therefore, the edge of the cube is 6 cm.
Hence, 1 is the correct option.
