Detailed Solution

In Surat, Ahmedabad, and Patan, patola weaving was very popular. It started in the middle of the eighteenth century and was woven in Surat, Ahmadabad, and Patan. In Indonesia, it was highly regarded. As a result, it became firmly rooted in the weaving community of the neighbourhood. A patola, a double ikat-woven sari, is typically made of silk. Patul is used as a singular noun and patola as a plural. To make a patola sari with the desired pattern, the warp and weft threads are wrapped to withstand the dye. This tying is repeated for every colour present in the final product. Before weaving, the warp and weft are coloured in a process known as double ikat.
