Three-tier Quasi-judicial machinery is found at the district, state, and national levels.
Under the Consumer Protection Act of 1986, the three-tier quasi-judicial machinery was formed. This includes state, national and district levels that have been set up for the redressal of consumer disputes. The district level court deals with cases involving values of up to Rs 20 lakhs. While the state-level involves cases of the value of Rs 20 lakhs to 1 crore altogether. The national level is the highest court and allows disputes exceeding the value of Rs 1 crore. Consumers are also allowed to appeal in the state and nationally further after the case is dismissed in the district court.
