To make the maximum use of the existing land, farmers use HYV seeds and fertilisers. Besides this, Multiple cropping and Modern farming methods are used to Increase production on the same Piece of land.
1)      Multiple Cropping: When more than one crop is grown on a piece of land, it is known as Multiple Cropping. All the farmers in Palampur grow at least two crops.
2)      Modern Farming also helps to increase the yield per hectare of land. Farmers set up tube wells for irrigation and use HYVs, chemical fertilisers, and pesticides. Some farmers also use tractors, threshers, etc.
