Detailed Solution

There are 25 High courts in India.
Every Indian state is required by Article 214 to create a High Court. According to Article 231, a joint High Court for two or more states, or two or more states and a union territory, is permitted. Six of India's 25 high courts have jurisdiction over numerous states or union territories. Delhi is a Union Territory because it has its own High Court. A Chief Justice and any other judges that the President of India may select make up each High Court.
