Detailed Solution

Transport and shopkeeping are the Non-Farming activities of rural India. Farming is the main production activity in villages. However, a certain proportion of villagers also engage in non-farming activities like transport and shopkeeping. In villages, there aren't many people involved in trading (exchange of things). Shop owners that purchase a variety of commodities from wholesale marketplaces in urban areas and resell them in the village are known as merchants in villages. In a village, one may find tiny general stores that sell various goods such as rice, wheat, sugar, tea, oil, biscuits, soap, toothpaste, batteries, candles, notebooks, pens, and even some clothing.
