The Treaty of Salbai was signed during the first Anglo-Maratha war.
After the first Anglo-Maratha war, the Treaty of Salbai was signed between the Britishers and Marathas in 1782. From 1775 through 1782, the first Anglo-Maratha war was waged. The cause of this war was interference and interruption by Britishers in Marathas's external and internal affairs. Britishers wanted to suppress Marathas and annex their states because they were emerging as powerful rulers. Thus the Treaty of Salbai was signed after the victory of the Marathas in the first Anglo-Maratha war.
