Detailed Solution

Trimbakeshwar is the source of the Godavari River in Maharashtra's Nashik district.
Another significant river of the Peninsular region is the Godavari, often known as the Burhi Ganga or the Dakshin Ganga. It starts at Trimbakeshwar in Maharashtra's Nashik district. Its catchment area is approximately 3,12,812 square kilometres, and it flows across stony Kneiss and Gondwana terrain for 1465 kilometres. A gorge 60 kilometres long and 240 metres wide has been created by the river. The Western Ghats contain this gorge, which is only 100 kilometres from its mouth. A 15-kilometer-long wetland on the northern portion of the river delta plays a key role in the formation of the Kakinada Gulf.
