Detailed Solution

The tyre which has been used and old is more likely to skid.
The surface of a new tyre is designed in such a way that the liquid traps in between the grooves of the new tyres. So they are less risky to get slipped. In other words, there is sufficient friction between the new tyre and the road. Wear and tear occur on the tyre as it is used, and its surface smoothens, reducing friction between the tyre and the road. As a result, it is more likely to skid.
