An emf is induced in coil Q when coil P is brought close. Lenz's Law gives the direction of induced emf. It states that the direction of the current induced in a conductor by a changing magnetic field is such that the magnetic field created by the induced current opposes the initial changing magnetic field.
According to Lenz's law, an induced electric current flows in a direction such that the current opposes the change that induced it and therefore when coil Q is brought near coil P, then current is induced in coil P.
