Detailed Solution

Two constituents of biogas are methane and carbon dioxide.
Biogas can be produced using agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste or food waste. It is a renewable energy source produced by anaerobic digestion with methanogen or anaerobic organisms, which digest material inside a closed system, or by fermentation of biodegradable materials. This closed system is known as an anaerobic digester, biodigester or bioreactor. Therefore, biogas is a renewable source of energy. The main constituent of biogas is methane. The second most constituent is carbon dioxide (CO2). Biogas also contains some water vapour, hydrogen sulphide and many more gases. Therefore, biogas is a very efficient and beneficial resource.
