Detailed Solution

Textiles, iron and smelting were two crafts and industries of India during British rule. The industries of textiles, iron, and smelting also played a significant role in Britain's success as the world's factory. The pressure of competition from the Indian textile sector considerably impacted technological improvements in the textile industry. Following the invention of the Spinning Jenny by John Kaye in 1764, the textile industry's production increased. Britain's iron and steel industry became known as the "workshop of the world" once it grew in the 1850s. The company generated money by selling goods it had bought in India in the late eighteenth century and sold to England and Europe. As a result, British business people started to view India as a significant market as industrial production rose.
