Consider the motion of particle along the axes shown in figure. We have

ux=u,  ax=-gsin60°

uy=0,  ay=-gcos60°

(1) As the particle strikes the plane OB perpendicularly,

vx=0 as vx=ux+axt or 0=u-gsin60°tt=ugsin60°=10310×32=2s

(2) Initial velocity along y-axis is zero. The velocity along y-axis after 2 s

vy=uy+ayt

=0-gcos60°×2=-10×12×2=-10 m/s

(3) We have, vx2=ux2+2axs

Since vx=0 and 

ax=gsin60°,u=103 m/s

  0=(103)2-2×gsin60°×(OQ) or OQ=102×32×10×32=103 m

Distance PO=0+12gsin30°×(2)2

=12×10×12×4=10 m

Therefore height h of point P,

h=PQsin30°=10×12=5 m

(4) Distance PQ=PO2+OQ2

=PQ=(10)2+(103)2=20m
