Detailed Solution

We are given that two lines are parallel, and one of the lines is 4π‘₯ + 3𝑦 = 14. For a pair of parallel lines, if two equations are π‘Ž1 π‘₯ + 𝑏1 𝑦 + 𝑐1 = 0 and π‘Ž2 π‘₯ + 𝑏2 𝑦 + 𝑐2 = 0

then,

a1a2=b1b2

Here, a1 = 4 , b1 = 3 and c1 = -14

So, putting these values in the above condition, we get

4a2 = 3b2

a2b2 = 43

So, the ratio of the first two coefficients should equal the ratio of coefficients of the given equation.

Hence, the second equation is 8π‘₯ + 6𝑦 βˆ’ 30 = 0.
