starting point of both men = p
distance covered by men A in one hour = 3 km
distance covered by men A in 3 hours = 3×3 = 9km
similarly,
distance covered by men B in one hour = 3.5km
distance covered by men B in 3 hours = 3.5×3 =10.5km
as men A and men B both covered their distance in opposite directions so we will add their distances to find out the distance between them.
distance between men A and men B = 9+10.5 = 19.5km.
