Detailed Solution

Cotton and silk are two naturally obtained fibres.
Cotton and silk are natural fibres. Natural fibres are those fibres which are obtained from plants and animals. For example, cotton fibres are obtained from the fruits of a cotton plant known as cotton bolls. The cotton boll on maturing bursts open and the cotton plant's seed covered with cotton fibres can be seen. The cotton from these cotton bolls is picked by hand. The fibres are separated from the seeds through a process known as Ginning, done by hand or machines. Silk is a natural fibre that silk moths obtain. They secrete fine filaments made of protein from the two glands on their heads. They deposit these filaments around their body, known as a cocoon. The cocoon is placed in boiling water to loosen the filaments and then the filaments are taken out of the cocoon, known as reeling.
