Q.

Two non-viscous, incompressible and immiscible liquids of densities ρ and 1.5 ρ are poured into the two limbs of a circular tube of radius R and small cross-section kept fixed in a vertical plane. The pressure at A from both sides of liquid is equal

                   ρ1h1g = ρ1h2g + ρ2h3g

where

h1 = R -R sinθ, h2 = R-R cosθ, h3 = Rcosθ+Rsinθ

and                      ρ1 = 1.5ρ, ρ2=ρ

    1.5ρ(R-Rsinθ)=1.5ρ(R-Rcosθ)+ρ(Rcosθ+Rsinθ)

or     0.5cosθ = 2.5sinθ

or      θ = tan-115
