There are two persons A and B and they are 27 km apart.

We know that A has travelled 27km more than B

distance travelled by A and B is, 3x and 3y.they were 27km apart.

Then divided by 3
x + y = 9
Substituting the value of y from equation (1) we get
x + x + 3 = 9
x=3
substituting x = 3 in equation (1) we get y = x + 3 = 3 + 3 = 6.
Hence x = 3 and y = 6.
So, option 2 is correct.
