It is given that two poles are 10and 20in height and the line which joins their tops makes an angle of 15with the horizontal.
According to the given data the figure has been drawn below.
Question ImageLet AB and CD are two poles.
Then, AB=ED=10 m and CD=20 m and CAE=15.
Here, CE=CD-ED  20-10

In ACE, tanθ= Perpendicular base  
 tan15°=CEAE  AE=10tan15° Now
tan15°=tan(45°-30°)               =tan45°-tan30°1+tan45°tan30° tan(ab)= tanatanb 1+tanatanb  
              =1-131+13   tan 30 ° = 1 3  and tan 45 ° =1  
               =3-133+13
        =3-13+1
Rationalizing denominator we get,
3-13+1
(3-1)2×12
(4-23)×12
(2-3)
So the value of AE = 102-3 m.
Now rationalizing the denominator, we must multiply both denominator and numerator by 2+3.
We get  10×(2+3)(2-3)×(2+3)
10(2+3)4-3 10(2+1.732)1  3 =1.732   37.3   AE=37.3m. Therefore the distance between the two poles is 37.3m.
So the correct option is 2.
