Detailed Solution

Two test tubes A and B are taken in which test tube A contains hydrochloric acid(HCl) and test tube B contains acetic acid(CH3COOH). When magnesium ribbon is added in both test tubes, the fizzing occurs more vigorously in test tube A.
When any liquid fizzes, it creates a lot of bubbles in the solution and it makes a continuous sound. When magnesium ribbon is added to HCl, it forms hydrogen gas as one of the products faster than the CH3COOH. The reaction is given as:
Mg+2HClMgCl2+H2
