Let Distance and Speed of first train be D1 and S1
and of second be D2 and S2 respectively.
According to question,
S1=40 kmh and S2=45 kmh
D1+40 km=D2
Time taken by first train=Time taken by second train
D1S1=D2S2
D140=D1+4045
45D1=40D1+1600
5D1=1600
D1=320 km
         D2=320+40=360 km
Therefore, Distance between two stations=D1+D2=320+360=680 km
