Detailed Solution

Two women Shanti and Kamla of masses 50 kg and 60 kg respectively climb up through a height of 10 m. Shanti takes 20 s while Kamla takes 40 s to reach. The difference of power expended by Shanti and Kamla is 100 W.
Given:
Mass of shanti, m= 50 kg
mass of kamla, mk =60 kg
Height, = 10 m
time taken by shanti, t= 20 s
time taken by kamla, tk = 40 s
we know power, P =mght
Let the power of  shanti is Ps
PS=50×10×1020
 PS =250 W
Power of Kamla =PK=60×10×1040
 PK=150 W
Difference in power expended =250-150=100 W
