Detailed Solution

Under Wajid Ali Shah, the last Nawab of Awadh, Kathak developed into a significant art form. Kathak is a combination of the terms Katha, which means "story," and Kathakar, which means "one who recounts a story." Kathak evolved into a distinct dance style in the court of the Mughal emperors and their nobles, where it acquired its modern qualities. Kathak is an Indian classical dance style that developed in Northern India. Kathak developed as a storytelling method within Hindu temples to convey epic tales from Hindu scriptures like the Mahabharata and Ramayana. During the Bhakti movement, Kathak developed independently in the courts of northern Indian kingdoms, mainly by adding the infancy and legends of the Hindu god Krishna.
