Congruence is the term used to define an object and its mirror image.

Two objects or shapes are said to be congruent if they superimpose on each other. Their shape and dimensions are the same. In the case of geometric figures, line segments with the same length are congruent and angle with the same measure are congruent.

Conditions for Congruence of Triangles are:

  1. SSS (Side-Side-Side)
  2. ASA (Angle-Side-Angle)
  3. SAS (Side-Angle-Side)
  4. AAS (Angle-Angle-Side)
  5. RHS (Right Angle-Hypotenuse-Side)

So, when two right-angled triangles are congruent if the hypotenuse and a leg of one of the triangles are equal to the hypotenuse and the corresponding leg of the other triangle, then this congruency criterion is called RHS or Right-angle-Hypotenuse-Side.
