Congruence is the term used to define an object and its mirror image.

Two objects or shapes are said to be congruent if they superimpose on each other. Their shape and dimensions are the same. In the case of geometric figures, line segments with the same length are congruent and angle with the same measure are congruent.

Conditions for Congruence of Triangles are:

  1. SSS (Side-Side-Side)
  2. ASA (Angle-Side-Angle)
  3. SAS (Side-Angle-Side)
  4. AAS (Angle-Angle-Side)
  5. RHS (Right Angle-Hypotenuse-Side)

So, when two triangles are congruent if two angles and the side included between them in one of the triangles are equal to the corresponding angles and the side included between them of the other triangle, then this congruency condition is called ASA or Angle-Side-Angle congruency condition.
