Under Article 324-329 of the Constitution, a provision for Election Commission has been made. Article 324-329, paragraph 324 deals with supervising, directing, controlling, and conducting elections to be vested in an Election Commission. Article 325 says that the election commission prepares electoral rolls for elections in which no person is to be ineligible for inclusion in, or to claim to be included in a special electoral roll-on grounds of religion, race, caste, or sex. Article 326 says that the election of the Lok-sabha and state legislature should be conducted based on a universal adult franchise. Article 327 says that Parliament has the power to make provisions for legislature elections. Article 328 says that it is within the power of the state legislature to make provisions concerning the election of the legislature. Article 329 prohibits courts from interfering in electoral matters.
