Detailed Solution

On February 6, 1956, a meeting was held at Tilak Smarak Mandir in Pune, presided over by Keshavrao Jedhe. The Samiti established an Executive Council. Before independence, the Indian National Congress promised to introduce language regions. However, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel fiercely opposed the linguistic movement. Finally, the November 21, 1956 insurgency led to the ouster of Yashwantrao Chavan and Morarji Desai, the then-prime minister of Bombay State.
