During the reign of Alauddin Khalji Mongol attacks on the Delhi Sultanate got increased in the early time of Muhammad Tughluq’s rule. The Mongols were under the rule and command of a grandson of Hulagu and Abdullah attacked Punjab and reached near Sanam. The Mongol Empire emerged from the unification of several nomadic tribes in the Mongol homeland under the leadership of Genghis Khan in c. 1162–1227. In 1206 council was proclaimed the ruler of all Mongols 1206.
