Uneven heating of the land and [[1]] causes the monsoon winds to blow. 

• In summer, the temperature on land is more than the water in the ocean. 
• Hence the air over the land rises and the air from the high-pressure region of the ocean starts flowing towards the land which leads to the formation of monsoon winds.

Therefore, we can conclude that the monsoon winds blow due to the uneven heating of land and water.
