Given, ground space required by each banana tree is 1.25 m 2 .
The product of a rectangle's length and breadth gives its area.
Now, the length of the banana orchard is 20 m and its breadth is 15.7 m.
So, the total area of the banana orchard as per the definition of the area of a rectangle is,
=20×15.7 =314  m 2
Now, it is given that 1 banana tree requires 1.25 m 2 , so the total number of trees in the orchard will be the quotient of the area of the orchard and the individual area of a banana tree, i.e.,
= 314 1.25 =251.2 251
Therefore, the total number of trees that can be in the orchard is 251.
Hence, the correct option is 3.
