Detailed Solution

Consider 6613y=f(x)=x13

We need to find approximate value of 6613.

Let x=64 and x+x=66

Then ,x=66-x=66-64=2.

For x=64,

Then, y=f(64)=6413=(43)13=4

As dx=x dx=2

By differentiating y=x13, we get

dydx=13x13-1=13x-23=13x23

As the formula of differentiation of xn=nxn-1

Now, dydxx=64=136423=134323                   =1342=13×16=148

We know y=dy=dydxdx

By substituting dydx , dx in above equation, we get

y=148×2=124=0.0416660.042

As 66=x+x, then 6613=y+y

By substituting y,y in above equation

y+y=4+0.042=4.042

Therefore , the approximate value of 6613=4.042.
