Detailed Solution

V.S. Naipaul is a Nobel prize-winning writer.
He is a Trinidadian novelist of Indian descent and is well known for his depressing books set in developing countries. Because of his exposure to what the Swedish Academy referred to as "suppressed histories," Naipaul won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2001. In 1950, Naipaul, an indentured servant with Hindu Indian ancestry, left Trinidad to attend Oxford University. After that, he settled in England but kept travelling for a long time. In Naipaul's latter works, which were set in various national contexts, he investigated the emotional and societal alienation experienced in developing countries seeking to combine their indigenous and colonial histories.
