Detailed Solution

The Sanskrit language was used to write the Vedas. A collection of songs or hymns written in ancient Sanskrit by Indo-European speakers who lived in northwest India during the second millennium BCE is known as the Veda. It was only possible for educated Brahmins to study the Vedas. No specific time can be assigned to the writing of the Vedas. However, most academics accept a range between 1500 and 1200 BCE. The hymns were chanted or read as part of a liturgical body that partly developed around the soma ritual and sacrifice. They praised a large pantheon of deities, some of whom personified physical and cosmic phenomena like fire (Agni), dawn (Ushas, a goddess) and rain (Indra).
