Ladakh is a harsh, desert with terrible weather for farming. For over 90% of the farmers in Ladakh, irrigation is dependent on snowmelt. As glaciers melt more quickly and there is less snowfall and rain, farming practices in the arid Ladakh region have begun to change due to global warming.
