Detailed Solution

Concept- The product is an aldehyde with the same number of carbon atoms as in alkene and the product is a ketone with the same number of carbon atoms as in alkene. The reaction is oxidizing the more substituted carbon atom of the alkene. One product of this reaction will give a positive Fehling’s Solution. In this reaction, Palladium is used as a catalyst to speed up the reaction. In the Wacker process, a terminal alkene is oxidized in the presence of copper and palladium-containing catalysts. Water is also needed to get completed in this reaction. This reaction involves the formation of metal complexes and they react in order to give products. Oxirane is a group which is also called epoxide but this is not formed in the Wacker process. The entire reaction as a whole is not a hydration reaction of alkenes.
Hence, the correct answers are options 1 and 2 both.
