Detailed Solution

Concept- We know the cost price of each bat and profit and gain percent is given. Using that first we will find the SP of both bats and then check for profit or loss.
Two cricket bat C.P is =Rs. 840 and Rs. 360
On first he gain 15%=840+(840×15%)
SP=Rs. 966
On second he lose 15%=360-(360×5%)
=Rs342
Total C.P=840+360=1200
Total S.P=342+966=Rs.1308
Total gain=1308-1200=Rs.108
Gain%= gainCP×100
=1081200×100
=9%
So,  gain% is 9%.
Hence, correct option is 1.
