Detailed Solution

Concept- We are given the velocity of water and time using which we can find the length of the canal. Now using the length, width and depth we can find the volume and out of that 8cm is standing so we need to find the remaining area.
We have,
Width of the canal=30dm=300cm=3m
Depth of the canal=12dm=120cm=1.2m
water is flowing at a velocity of 10km/hr.
Therefore length of the water column formed in  12hour=5km=5000m
volume of the water flowing in  12hour
= Volume of the cuboid of length is 5000m, width is 3m and depth is 1.2m
Volume of the water following in 12hour
=5000×3×1.2m3 =18000m3
Suppose x m2area is irrigated in 12hour. Then
x×8100=18000
x=225000m2
Hence, the correct option is 1.
