Detailed Solution

Water is unevenly distributed because of variations in seasons and landscape. Some areas receive very little water from rainfall, while some areas get flooded because of rain. For example, in India, we get most of our water resources in the rainy season, while we receive little or no water in the summer. Likewise, there is very little rainfall in desert areas because of dry climatic conditions, while the rain is very high in hilly regions like the Western Ghats and Northeastern regions. Apart from this, most often, over-exploitation, excessive consumption, and unequal access to water among various social groups also contribute to the uneven availability of water.
