Detailed Solution

We get diffused reflection from a rough surface.
When a light beam hits a rough, unpolished surface, the light reflects in different directions. Such a reflection of light from a bumpy surface is called irregular or diffused reflection.
Most reflections over the surface happen in two ways depending upon the surface. The first type of surface is an irregular surface with bumps or a rough surface and the second type is a regular surface with a smooth surface. However, it has bumps but are negligible when compared to an irregular surface. On an irregular surface, it reflects a parallel beam of light incident upon it in many directions, this type of reflection is called diffused reflection. Therefore, the diffused reflection term is related to irregular surfaces.
