Detailed Solution

We are given that we have 5 cards which are as follows: Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of Diamond. We are asked to find the probability. We know that probability is the possibility of an event occurring. Probability is defined as
probability=Number of favourable outcomesNumber of total outcomes
where a favorable outcome means the number of outcomes that apply to the event.
(i) First we are told that one card is drawn and we need to find the probability that the card is a queen. Now we only have 5 cards in total. So,
Total results = 5……(i)
Now, out of all 5 cards, our advantage gets the queen. Since we only have 1 queen of all, we get,
Number of favorable results = 1……(ii)
So, using (i) and (ii), we get,
P (getting a queen) = 15
