To protect the interests and support the overall growth of the Adivasis and the tribal population of India i.e., more than 6 Million, our constitution has defined these groups as scheduled tribes. The tribal communities and Adivasis in India have also been recognized under Schedule 5 of the Indian Constitution. There are almost 645 distinct tribes in India. Now, it is upon the government to launch schemes for the welfare of these tribal societies so that they can also get access to quality education and get jobs in diverse fields unlike their current situation, where most of them are working in construction sites and industries.
