Detailed Solution

The factors affecting the rate of evaporation are surface area, temperature, wind speed and humidity.
Surface area: Rate of evaporation increases with increase in surface area. For example, tea cools faster in a saucer than in a cup. Temperature: The rate of evaporation increases with increase in the temperature. For example, due to faster rate of evaporation in summer days, humidity is more in summer than winter days.Wind speed: The rate of evaporation is more with faster speed of wind. For example, on a windy day clothes dry up faster. Humidity: The rate of evaporation will decrease with increase in humidity. For example, on rainy days humidity is more in the air so the clothes dry up very slowly.
