Detailed Solution

Jowar, bajra and ragi are together known as millets. These grains are free of gluten and high in dietary fibre and minerals. These plants may grow in dryland settings and are rain-fed. Thus they are also called dryland crops. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh were the major states for jowar production. Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Haryana were the major Bajra-producing States. In addition, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Jharkhand, and Arunachal Pradesh are some states that produce a significant amount of ragi.
