What are platyhelminths commonly known as?

Platyhelminthes are triploblastic, acoelomates showing bilateral symmetry.  Due to the absence of a body cavity, their body is dorso-ventrally flattened and appears like a leaf. Thus, they are commonly known as flatworms. They are devoid of the anus and circulatory system but have a mouth.

Flatworms may be found as free-living or as parasites.
